The LIBBA Larry Carlucci Memorial Beach Clean-Up & Fishing Contest

Join the Long Island Beach Buggy Association (LIBBA) for a weekend of community, conservation, and friendly competition as we honor the memory of our long-time Director of Finances, Larry Carlucci, who served LIBBA faithfully for over 40 years until his passing on April 19, 2021.

Fishing Contest Boundaries

The contest will take place within Jones Beach State Park at West End 1 through West End 2, including the Construction Dock and Coast Guard Station areas.

Prizes

Contest prizes will be awarded for the 3 largest fish caught in the Striped Bass and Bluefish species categories.

  • 1st Place: $100

  • 2nd Place: $75

  • 3rd Place: $50

Entry Requirements

  • Striped Bass: Requires measurement (in inches) in a photograph, followed by delivery to the weigh station. Tape measures can be received or reused at the West End 2 Lot Weigh Station.

  • Bluefish: Requires an Official Weigh Station weight for contest entry.

Parking, Check-In & Permits

  • Recommended Event Parking & Weigh Station: West End 2 near the Rest Room Services Building (you will see other participants).

  • Check-In: Please check in upon arrival at the recommended parking location. Tape measures (if needed) will be issued upon check-in.

  • Permits Required:

    • Day Access (Saturday 9 AM-5 PM): Empire Pass is needed.

    • Overnight/Fishing: A valid 4x4 Fishing or Night-Fishing State permit is required.

  • IMPORTANT Parking Restriction: The State is setting up a Holiday Lights display that has a height restriction of 13 feet. Please be careful of your vehicle's height.

  • Note: Parking Class C or Slide-In Campers is NOT recommended at the Construction Dock area due to site conditions.
