Shagwong Beach Cleanup and Fishing Tournament

Come check out LIBBA'S officially sponsored beach (our name is on the sign).

Thankfully there is usually a small amount plastic trash but mostly lobster traps and driftwood, so come down and bring home some cool things for your home garden.

This is a great opportunity to check out a beach that many of you may not have ever been on.

We’ll also have our first fishing tournament of the year on Saturday afternoon.

As you’ll see below, this event is over a full weekend. Most people arrive on Friday afternoon. The Cleanup officially is Saturday morning with the fishing tournament in the afternoon.

Lunch will be hosted by LIBBA on Saturday.
Sunday is usually breakfast, pack up and leave.

So come for the weekend or just for the day!

Note: If you are spending the weekend Suffolk County regulations MUST be followed and your camper must be Self Contained.
Per their website: A Self-contained camping unit is defined as, a camper that contains a built-in flushable toilet with a built-in holding tank with a minimum capacity of 5-gallons (black water tank).
Campers must also contain a built-in sink with a minimum of a 5-gallon potable water tank (freshwater tank) and a minimum 5-gallon soiled water holding tank (grey water tank)

Date: Friday May 1st-Sunday May 3rd.
Location: Montauk County Park, 527 East Lake Dr. MTK

Due to this being a LIBBA sanctioned event for this weekend you do not need to have the Suffolk County Outer Beach Pass.

LARRY CARLUCCI MEMORIAL FISHING TOURNAMENT (June 06, 2026)

Larry Carlucci Memorial Fishing Tournament:

Co-hosted with the NYCRF

This is the 2nd annual tournament honoring our dear friend Larry who was a long serving officer of both organizations.

The event will kick off with a beach cleanup, then followed by the fishing contest.

Food will be served as well as prizes for the longest fish in each category.
Date: Saturday, June 6th thru Sunday June 7th.
Location: Jones Beach West End.
Start time: 9am Saturday beach cleanup, Fishing Contest 12 noon Saturday until 12 noon Sunday.
